The Roane County Soil & Water Conservation District is excited to announce the annual 2026 TACD Poster Contest. The contest provides students within grades K-12 an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas about soil, water and related natural resource issues. The theme is taken from NACD's annual Soil Stewardship Week Theme.

This year's contest theme is " Soil. Where It All Begins "

Each year the Roane County SWCD takes pride in participating in the statewide poster contest and would like to invite each of our Roane County Schools to participate. We ask that you encourage all students interested to please take this opportunity to let their education and creativity shine.

There will first be a County judging by the RCSWCD Board, 1st place: $50.00, 2nd place: $25.00 prizes. Posters will need to be received by the Roane County Soil & Water Conservation District office no later than Friday, October 2, 2026. First place County winners will then be entered in the TACD (State) judging and possibly on to NACD for the National competition. 

 State: 1st place: $50.00, 2nd place: $25.00. 

NACD: 1st place: $200.00, 2nd place: $150.00, and 3rd place:$100.00.

Enclosed you will find the Poster Contest Rules and the Registration form, as we are asked to attach a completed (signed) registration form to the back of each poster entered. We encourage you to take advantage of this educational opportunity and truly look forward to working with you and your students. Please feel free to contact me at (865) 248-3159 if your school will need posters picked up.
